Q: What type of boats do we deliver?
We deliver all sized sailing yachts and motor vessels under their own power. They can be privately owned, commercial or charter vessels and we often deliver for yacht brokers and new boat owners. We deliver boats for owners who are too busy to make the trip, don’t care to make the trip alone or would like professional assistance because the trip is to windward. We also perform sea trials and pre-purchase inspections.
Q: What is the Booking procedure?
A: Once we have discussed the delivery requirements, location and terms under which we operate, we will be prepare a Delivery Contract. This is quick and relatively painless (except for the funds transfer).
We will prepare and send you a Delivery Agreement detailing the yacht, your chosen dates, location, and detailed costing's. Upon signing this Agreement the first payment, normally 50%, is due to the account shown on the Agreement.
Q: What experience do we have?
A: We are RYA Qualified Yachtmaster Ocean Skippers with some 140,000 nautical miles logged. Our background primarily comes from Charter Yachts, Classic Yachts, Luxury Yachts, Yacht Management & Maintenance. We are yacht owners ourselves and successfully operate and manage motor and sailing charter yachts worldwide. We have navigated the Atlantic, North & South, East & West Coasts. We have recently completed a Full crossing of the Mediterranean, through the Suez Canal and across the Indian Ocean to Thailand. We have also sailed Australia, Hawaii, the Philippines. Lastly, we are Yachtsman who work on or near the water almost every day.
Q: What geographic areas do you cover?
We will deliver a Yacht anywhere in the World, depending on the Time Period and the Political situation.
Q: What does a Yacht Delivery cost?
That depends on the type of vessel, time period, meteorology, crew requirements and length of passage. The owner is responsible for all of the vessels expenses and transportation to and from the vessel.
Q: What is provided?
1. A professional captain, mate and necessary crew and arrangements for their transportation. 2. We will obtain all navigational charts and pilots if they are not already on board. 3. We have our own portable GPS systems, electronic charting software, notebooks and plotting instruments. 4. Full provisioning of the yacht prior to departure, including food and fuel. 5. We will perform a pre-voyage survey of the vessel and a full log with detailed accounting of expenses incurred along the voyage. 6. We will organize all clearance documentation, customs and excise taxes and port fees. 7. We can provide daily positioning and progress reports.
Q: Will you charge for equipment failure and weather delays?
If we feel it is not safe to continue, we will stay at anchor or dock until conditions improve. Though every situation is unique and will be addressed appropriately when the time comes. Generally we don't charge for small delays but if you lose the engine or a major system and can't get parts or repairs for a week we'll stay on the boat and do something constructive whilst we wait and charge you a daily rate.
Q: What happens if repairs are needed along the way?
We will make repairs underway within our capability. Otherwise we will get to the nearest marina and contact you immediately for your approval before any repairs are done.
Q: What happens if the vessel becomes un seaworthy or incapable of continuing safely?
We will immediately get to the nearest port and contact you.
Q: How many hours are made underway each day?
This depends on the Yacht and the chosen route. We prefer to work 24/7, though depending on location, meteorology etc.
Q: Does the boat need to be insured?
We cannot undertake a delivery without adequate insurance. We require a copy of the cover page of your policy showing the effective dates, boat identification and the Protection and Indemnity (P&I) section of your policy showing that all crew members are covered by the policy.
